To the Administrators Responsible for the CHMTL Thesauri Websites

We, the undersigned scholars, respectfully request information regarding the restoration of the websites of the CHMTL music theory thesauri — Thesaurus musicarum Latinarum (TML), Traités français sur la musique (TFM), Texts on Music in English (TME), Saggi musicali italiani (SMI).

These resources, primarily the TML, have long been essential tools for research and teaching in our fields. Hundreds of scholarly articles, books, and online materials cite or link to them. Over the years, they have become primary reference sources, especially in some countries where most of these texts are not available in libraries.

Many of us rely on them daily in our work—whether writing books, articles, dissertations, or preparing teaching materials and student assignments.

We understand that multiple websites were affected by a major outage and appreciate the information that no data has been lost and that the publisher, the university, intends to restore the services as they were before.

However, the sites have now been inaccessible for several months and currently display only error messages, with no indication of progress or timeline.

With appreciation for the invaluable service that your institution has provided to the scholarly community for more than three decades, we kindly ask whether a projected timeframe for restoration can be shared. Even a general indication would help us plan our ongoing research, writing, and teaching more responsibly.

We are grateful for your attention to this matter and for your support of the scholarly community.
